 DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS

All of us at the practice are very aware of the difficulty many of you have experienced when trying to make appointments. Increased demand from patients have forced us once again to review our appointment system. Below is a guide on accessing your GP from November:-

Appointments may be made by telephoning 020 8863 3333 or by calling in at the surgery. Telephone lines are open from 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

 1.     Pre-bookable Appointments

Each evening, appointments will be released for the following day. The appointments are between 9:00am to 10:00am and 3:30pm to 4:00pm. These appointments can also be booked via the telephone automated system or through the Online Service. (N.B. you must be registered to use our online service – please enquire at Reception)

Commuter Surgery – Tuesday 6:30pm to 8:50pm – These appointments may be pre-booked up to six weeks in advance.

2.     Same Day Appointments

These appointments can only be booked by speaking to a Receptionist on the day and are available between 10:00am to 11:30am and 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

3.     Duty Doctor

A Duty Doctor is on call daily to deal with emergencies which otherwise  cannot wait until the next day. These appointments are booked on the day but  once we have reached our capacity of emergency appointments, you may be  asked to go to the walk-in clinics at the Pinn Medical Centre or the Urgent Care  Centre at Northwick Park Hospital.

4.     Telephone Consultations

All urgent telephone enquiries are dealt by the Duty Doctor. If you feel that your problem can be solved by talking to a doctor, then let the Receptionist know and  she will arrange for a doctor to call you back. If you need to speak to a specific doctor, please be aware that you may not receive a call back on the same day but will be returned within 48hours.

Reception staff will make every effort to book you an appointment with the doctor of your choice but if this is not possible, you will be offered an appointment with another doctor.

For follow-up appointments, it may not always be possible to see the same doctor but as your records and results can be viewed in surgery by all clinicians, your review can be carried out by any doctor at the practice.

Surgery Times

We run a full appointment system. The surgery is open from 7.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

To accommodate patients who find it difficult to make an appointment because of employment or other commitments and to conform to Government requirements, there are two doctors and a nurse on a Tuesday evening with a health care assistant also in attendance on alternate weeks. Please note that both these clinics are pre-bookable appointments only.

The Tuesday evening commuter surgery is from 6.30 to 8.50pm. The doctors run this clinic in rotation.
